THE ROLE
What you will work on.
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our core engineering team in Coimbatore. In this role, you will take ownership of custom automation projects, collaborating directly with senior systems engineers, fabrication leads, and global automotive clients.
You will turn complex manufacturing requirements into robust 3D CAD assemblies, run kinematic reach simulations, define GD&T datum schemes, and support in-house assembly and buyoff.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D concept models and detailed mechanical assemblies in SolidWorks / NX
- Perform kinematic reach studies, cycle-time analyses, and robotic EOAT sizing
- Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with strict GD&T and weld symbols
- Collaborate with CNC laser cutting, machining, and assembly floor teams
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA sessions, and client technical presentations
- Support CMM inspection, fixture alignment, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
What we are looking for
- B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
- 3 to 6 years of proven experience in BIW fixture design, SPMs, or automation tooling
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or CATIA V5
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), manufacturing tolerances, and materials
- Familiarity with pneumatic systems (Festo/SMC) and standard hardware components
- Passion for seeing designs built into working hardware on the shop floor
