Multi-Stage Automated Performance & Helium Leak Testing Station
01 / THE PRODUCTION CHALLENGE

What needed to be engineered.

A modern domestic appliance manufacturer required 100% helium mass-spectrometer leak testing and electrical safety testing on sealed compressor circuits without disrupting their 30-second continuous conveyor takt.

Manual connection of hoses and cables was inconsistent and frequently damaged delicate copper tube ends.

02 / TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE & SOLUTION

How Draftdu solved it.

Draftdu developed an automated indexing test fixture with pneumatic quick-connect sealing couplers, automatic helium charging and recovery circuits, and integrated high-precision pressure decay sensors.

The fixture automatically clamps onto incoming units on the conveyor, executes vacuum evacuation, helium leak sniffing, and electrical continuity tests, and releases the part within 26 seconds.

03 / QUANTIFIABLE OUTCOME

Measurable shop-floor results.

Achieved 100% automated inline verification with leak detection sensitivity down to 10⁻⁵ mbar·l/s, completely eliminating false rejects and preventing tube flare damage.
